Steamboat Island is a small island in southern Puget Sound at the northern end of a peninsula known as the “Steamboat Peninsula” located northwest of downtown Olympia. The peninsula and island are contained within the Griffin School District. It has beautiful water views, public beach access, golf, and easy highway 101 access. Steamboat Island has easy access to the cities amenities while living in a tranquil environment filled with nature and wildlife. Being right on the water makes it easy to kayak, boat or paddle board. Even if you don’t like being in the water yourself you can enjoy bird watching, walking or biking the almost 10 mile Steamboat Island Road.
