When someone mentions Tumwater High School, chances are that football is going to be mentioned as well, and for good reason as they have built a dynasty of winning State Championships. The winning streak started in 1987 and pushed strong into the 90’s with wins in 1989, 1990, 1993. Not to be outdone, the 21st century already has two state titles under its belt with wins in 2010, and again in 2019! Tumwater High has built a culture that emphasizes excellence, sportsmanship, and teamwork that has gone far beyond the football team, throughout the high school, and into the community. When asked “What aspects of playing football for Tumwater do you still incorporate into your life?” Joe Simmons, 1996 First String All League
Defensive Tackle immediately responded, “NGUNNGU! Never give up, never, never give up.
